Intro for this blog
I think I would like to have an intro for this blog.
This blog is dedicated to the learning journey in my marriage. Ever since I got married, I've come to realise that my responsibilities have shifted in many ways. I used to need to simply take care of myself and develop my career alone, but now the relationship with my husband comes to the top priority list. I can choose to view my marriage as a restriction or as a good land. God has given us different areas of life to work on, and if we are faithful in labouring on the good land, we will grow in faith and produce Christ in this area of life. Nevertheless, we can easily be deceived. We may mistakenly believe that our assigned tasks are insignificant and unimportant.
For instance, if the Lord asks us to establish a new locality with other saints, or migrate to a new country, we might feel that the Lord is using us greatly and want to cooperate with Him. However, if the Lord asks us to stay at home and serve our spouse and children, it may seem more challenging because we may not see immediate rewards.
This reminds me of the slave who got one talent from the Lord. In Matthew 21:18 "But he who had received the one went off and dug in the earth and hid his master’s money."
After some time, the master came back. He commented that this slave who had one talent as an "Evil and slothful slave" (Matt. 25:26). Then the master "Take away therefore the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents." (Matt. 25:28).
What the master is concerned about is not how many talents one receives. What he cares about is whether we use the talent(s) that we've given to do something for profit. And if we ask what is considered "profit", I believe what produces and multiplies life is considered "profit".
Therefore, I hope to record the struggles and learning from my marriage (a.k.a. my good land, my allotted portion) to produce life that glorifies Christ.
